Frequently Asked Questions
Why won't my AC shut off?
It sounds like you may have a problem with your AC unit. It's possible that the compressor is not turning off when it should, which would cause the unit to run continuously and eventually overheat.
If you're uncomfortable doing any repairs yourself, I would recommend contacting a professional AC repair service. They will be able to come out and take a look at your unit and help get it back up and running properly.
What is the lifespan of an air conditioner?
It depends on the type of air conditioner. A window unit typically lasts about eight years, while a central air conditioning unit can last up to 15 years. However, those are just averages - your mileage may vary.
One way to help prolong the life of your air conditioner is to have it serviced regularly. An annual tune-up can help keep it running smoothly and troubleshoot any small problems before they turn into big ones. If you do experience a problem with your air conditioner, be sure to call a qualified technician for repairs - don't try to fix it yourself! Air conditioners are complicated machines and can be dangerous if not properly handled.
Can I replace just the outside AC unit?
It's possible. However, it's important to consider the cost of the repair versus the cost of a new AC unit. In some cases, it may be more economical to replace the entire AC unit.
Generally, if the inside unit is still in good condition and only the outside unit needs to be replaced, then it's a fairly easy and inexpensive fix. However, if the inside unit is also in need of repair, then it's best to replace both units at the same time.
That said, it's always best to consult with a qualified AC technician to get an accurate diagnosis and recommendation. A technician can help you determine whether or not the repair is feasible and what kind of repairs are necessary.

Ac services for 2 2001 Rheem systems Customer recently had home warranty out because up stairs refrigerant line was freezing. Home warranty informed them.it is due to loss of air flow from plugged filters. Down stairs high pressure switch has been bypassed. Filters are over due at this time. Also found that up stairs system is operating low on refrigerant. Power distribution had been replaced recently and tested good for both systems. Water washed condensing coils. Condensing coils have become very brittle and flaking off with water wash. Verified that drainage is flowing freely at this time.
