What Is an Air Conditioner Tune Up?
At Morrow Mechanical, our goal is to maximize the value of our customers' air conditioning systems. As the leader in Harris County for central air conditioner service, our technicians have developed a tune-up program that can prolong the life of your air conditioning equipment and save you money on your cooling bills. Some of the steps we take to protect your AC are:
- Filter replacement
- Refrigerant pressure checks
- Lubrication of moving parts
- Cleaning dirty coils
- Inspect ductwork and electrical components
We recommend scheduling tune-ups twice per year to maximize results. With the two visits, one in the spring and one in the fall, our technicians have the chance to work on both the heater and the air conditioner so homeowners can stay comfortable and save money.
Common Central AC Repair Concerns
Air conditioners are complex pieces of equipment that have numerous ways that they can fail. Catching problems early can mean the difference between staying comfortable and having to sweat it out as you wait for repairs. Some of the signs that air conditioner repairs are needed are:
- Inadequate cooling
- Long cooling cycles
- Short cooling cycles
- High humidity or other air quality issues
- Frozen AC coils
- Water leaks around the unit
When problems are noticed, Morrow Mechanical stays ready to help. Our skilled technicians can quickly respond to your calls and implement solutions in a timely manner. With our 20+ years of experience, we know what it takes to keep our customers happy. Put our experience to work for you when your AC needs repairs.

When Should Central AC Installation Be Considered?
With all the work that Houston Metro area air conditioners do, they are only expected to last for 15-20 years. After that point, they can become very expensive to repair because all of the interior components of the air conditioner will be showing serious signs of wear. With good maintenance, an air conditioner will run problem-free for around a decade. After that point, a few repairs may be necessary even as AC maintenance is being practiced. But, at a certain point, homeowners will notice the increased expenses. At that time, it is a good idea to start shopping for an AC replacement.
A new air conditioner from Morrow Mechanical can immediately start saving homeowners money by eliminating expensive repair bills. A new air conditioner from us is backed by a warranty, so there is a guarantee that costly repairs won’t be necessary for years. Along with the money saved on repairs, a new air conditioner is more efficient than an aging unit. As a result, homeowners can save money on monthly bills, especially during the hottest months.
